EXPLORATIONS IN PAINT

This 4 x sessions short course introduces students to a range of innovative mark-making, painting and drawing techniques using acrylic paint.

With a focus on play, and the concept of experimentation and exploration without  expectation, we’ll examine how to apply paint in a variety of both traditional and non-traditional ways.

Content includes: making your marks with both brush applications and random, everyday objects, fluidity with a focus on wet into wet paint and the addition of water, creating impasto, simple glazing, and how to work with acrylic mediums and other additives.

This practical, hands-on, series of classes is suitable for total beginners or for those with some limited experience who want to know more about paint and possibility. It could also help to refresh or further develop an existing painting practice.
