SUMMER: THINKING THROUGH ABSTRACTION: PAINTING

When we think of abstract drawing or painting, we often imagine expressive, gestural works born from intuition, or alternatively, the clean precision of geometric abstraction. Yet abstraction encompasses a much broader field—one that includes diverse conceptual, material, and perceptual approaches.

Over three days, this course will explore different genres of abstraction through a series of guided exercises, experimentation, and playful inquiry. Each day will introduce new strategies and processes to expand your visual thinking and creative range.

Aimed at beginners and those with experience, this course will provide practical tools and conceptual insights to enrich your own art-making, whatever your preferred subject or medium.

Fee includes some materials.
