SPATIAL ODYSSEY

Composition is a principle tool when writing a musical score or sonic image. It is of equal importance when constructing a visual image – it is vital for drawing and painting.

Composition provides the essential framework for observational drawing and painting, primarily how to render form(s) in space. It is also important to artists whose practices are more expressive or abstract. Composition is integral in organising space, as well as in registering time, movement and atmosphere (ambience).

Using various drawing media, participants will explore different approaches to rendering space. This course is designed for both the novice and those with more experience.
