This 2-day portrait class will focus on traditional copying and direct wet-into-wet (alla prima) oil painting using the Zorn palette of white, yellow, ochre, red and black.

The morning session will involve copying from selected master portrait paintings. Methods taught will focus on the Zorn palette organisation, colour, tone, light, proportion and anatomical structure. Techniques learnt in the morning session will be applied to painting from life in the afternoon.

Students will receive one to one feedback with demonstrations and discussions on principles of light, colour and form.
