In this workshop, artists will look at abstraction through the process of addition and subtraction.

Students will look at examples of artists who use this process.

Tutor Kathy Barber will demonstrate an introductory example through her own abstraction and how she achieves depth and layering.

On Day 1 students will have the opportunity to experiment with Golden Open Acrylic (a slower drying acrylic) using various brushes and tools.

On Day 2 we will work on a larger format and approach the challenges that come with upscaling.

This is a supportive environment suitable for students of all abilities to learn and experiment.
