TRADITIONAL CONCEPTS:

DRAWING & PAINTING - ALL

It is generally accepted that a clear understanding of the fundamental skills of drawing and painting are essential as a foundation for ongoing development.

The primary focus of this 9 week course will be on how concepts of proportion, line, tone, composition, mark making and colour theory work together to construct a sound pictorial space in which students can explore their artistic interests.

Centred around the traditions of still life, the technical and observational skills of drawing and painting will be addressed. The course is open and inclusive of drawing and painting as applied to a broad spectrum of abilities, genres and working styles.
