In this course, students will work progressively on individual projects while exploring and developing their own ideas and approaches to art making. Self-directed investigation will be supported by the learning of practical techniques and skills through tasks that build creative confidence.

A wide range of media will be offered and students are encouraged to experiment freely with quality materials. References will be made to art history, alternative creative practices, the surrounding visual environment and personal experience.

Informal critiques offer students an opportunity to share observations and to become more aware of their own and others sensibility.

A smaller group size enables the tutor to work closely with each student and to craft a learning experience around their own particular needs.

Open to all young people interested in emersing themselves in the practice and culture of art.

This course may be repeated as many times as students wish, providing an ongoing structure for continuing creative development.
