ABSTRACT EXPRESSIONISM:

AN INTERIOR WORLD - ALL

Here’s an opportunity to awaken from your creative slumber and engage with action painting!

This fast-paced course will direct students through the painterly deconstruction process as we endeavor to understand the essential components of abstract expressionist painting. Students will be guided in how to maintain spontaneity, as they address the nature of both conscious and unconscious thought as applied to practice. There will also be an appreciation of sound compositional structure and the essential relationship of this to the abstract.

During the course, we will look at historical examples of painting, so as to better understand the relevance of Abstract Expressionism today and the ways that it may inform your own ongoing practice.

The course is suited to students of all levels of experience.

Students will take home a completed work.
